This week I decided to go larger with my painting. I also decided to stop confronting the issues I've been having with backgrounds. I went for a plain white background with a giant pie. I really enjoyed painting this way. I was able to put all of my time into the detail of the pie. I decided at the last minute to add a shadow, but I might not do that for the next painting. I still included embroidery, I feel like its even less viewable than the last painting.
The artists that I was looking at this week was Wayne theibaud. I was thinking about how he handles backgrounds and I decided to give it a shot. I'm happy about the outcome, and I think I want to keep going this route.
